Core Product Information
A single and consolidated view
CIO Springboard is an integrated, web based tool for managing key I.T. related resources within a complex I.S. environment. CIO Springboard gives you complete control of your environment by maintaining the natural dependencies between your I.T. resources.
CIO Springboard has a minimal required data set that extends as more information is discovered, either manually, via API data feeds, or auto discovery tools (more on these in our extensions). As more information is uncovered these relationships develop and grow.
CIO Springboard creates an environment where information is collectively maintained and shared. This drives accountable behaviour and a culture of information leverage rather than information denial and supports unsourced, outsourced and multi-sourced scenarios.
CIO Sprinboard by nature enables a delegated "Manage Don't Do" model for managing information and Promotes knowledge re-use and sharing between various departments, and serves as a provider of baseline information for ITIL processes
Intuitive Dashboards
Each CIO Springboard module contains an intuitive dashboard which draws your attention to issues, identifies gaps and improvement opportunities. CIO Springboard has sophisticated permission based filtering and search capability, making the desired information available to all stakeholders.
These metrics assist in managing projects for improvements such as server rationalisation, DRP practices, business alignment, license accountability as well as providing an estimate for TCO of assets for budgeting.
This can not only be managed at a project level but also at an group, vendor or individual level as CIO Springboard gives you a view based on resposnsibilites and /or ownership.
Consolidation of all IT assets
CIO Springboard maintains comprehensive information about systems, financial commitments, contract positions, hardware assets and interfaces thus eliminating personal speadsheets that contain island of information.
Direct and indirect linkages in CIO Springboard are visually represented so users can quickly and effectively assess the impact of environment changes, contract variations, assists in SLA alignment to business needs as well as IT portfolio planning to help eliminate unnecessary investments and redundancy of applications.
CIO Springboard also captures electronic documents against assets and links them to Document management systems or keep them in CIOS, i.e DRP plans linked to assets and services ensures continuity when it matters.
Asset and License management
The cornerstone of any ITSM/CMDB/SAM product is it's asset register. However, we don't want you so stuck on the details that you don't have the time or ability look at the big picture and how you are going. With that in mind, CIO Springboard has a minimal data requirement so you can begin to get an accurate picture of the health of your IT environment.
You will be able to capture what matters about your assets, including everything from: OEM/Vendor info and disaster recovery (DRP/BCP) Documentation to License, Support, Maintenance information as well as lifecycle, criticality, and architectural alignment to business needs.
Licensing and other agreements can be described in further detail including provisions for support level, estimated costs, license usage restrictions to help track whether your assets are covered by the appropriate support/maintenance agreements and that licence compliance is met down to a location and ownership level.
Using the various extensions available, CIO Springboard enables the capture of all applications including platforms, operating systems, databases, drivers, API's, ... and hardware in an effective and efficient manner.
As well as standard configuration information for hardware, i.e. drives, memory, devices etc; CIO Springboard more importantly stores and maintains the relationships of, and between, application installations so it is clear which components and systems are required including their respective runtime dependencies, for example databases that reside on other machines.
Gap Analysis - Strategic, Architectural and Business Value Chain alignment
To get good outcomes one must first set realistic goals for groups & business unit, CIO Sringboard then supports the gather of current application data and assists in Structuring the data for analysis
CIO Springboard makes the process achievable by breaking it down to a number of steps
Starting with identificication on who should be involved and the establishment of consistent decision criteria and process
Then start the process by identifing core systems and allocate them against the Enterprise Architecture model identifying its fit assessment then build on the knowledge base and capture a baseline of appliciation inventory and technology platforms
Define End State of the application architecture by understanding the major kinds of data needed by the business, The application architecture defines the major kinds of application needed to manage the data and support business processes. Whilst the technology architecture identifies the technology platforms needed to create an environment for the data and application architectures.
And finally addresses the implementation. by defining the sequence and creating schedules for implementing applications, preparing a cost/benefit analysis, and defining a road map for migrating from the current state to the desired state.
Accountability
As an indicative performance measure CIO Springboard monitors items for which a user is responsible and displays this back to the user in an easily digestible format. The concept behind this is to assist in identifying ownership so items can atended to. Which in turn drives improved ownership and accountability of systems, hardware and agreements down to individuals, groups, and / or Vendors
The core foundations are covered showing the user LL items for which they responsible as well as upcomming reminders, and tracks overall performance and activity relative to their organisations. with this monitor it is then easy to identify ownership and thus reduce the risk associated with unsupported systems and delegating IS department and Service Provider accountability. and providing a structure for IS department and service providers collaboration that enables process outsourcing
